Corina De Guire’s passion for communications shows through her years of experience in the communications industry.

In 2007, Corina joined the BC Pension Corporation as director of communications, providing strategic oversight of mass communications for five public sector pension plans. Her achievements include leading the Municipal Pension Plan to receive the Benefits Canada Plan Member Communications Award for video communications, introducing the Welcome to the Plan package for new members and a member-centric communications approach, and overseeing a complete redesign of the plan websites.

An accomplished communicator, Corina has worked in the field in varying roles, including advisor to senior naval leaders on strategic communications, associate publisher of Lookout Newspaper for Maritime Forces Pacific, and managing editor of The Maple Leaf and the Department of National Defence internal communications publication. She has also taught Canadian Forces information officers as an instructor of the Defence Public Affairs course.

Corina received a base commander’s commendation and Maritime Forces Pacific commendation, and was a Greater Victoria YM-YWCA Women of Distinction award nominee in the communications category. She holds a Master of Arts in Leadership and Training, completing a national research project for the Navy on strategic internal communications as part of her degree. Corina is a certified change manager with PROSCI and certified in Spiral Dynamics Integral.

Early in her career, after studying journalism at Algonquin College, Corina worked in communications for the Ontario Lottery Corporation and the Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce. She was a reporter and photographer at daily and weekly newspapers in Ontario, and won several Ontario Community Newspaper Association awards, including Best Sports Photo and Best Spot News Photo.
