Jo-Ann Hannah is the Unifor Director of Pensions and Benefits. Unifor is the new union formed September 2013 between the Communication, Energy and Paperworkers’ Union and the CAW-Canada. Unifor represents almost 305,000 members across Canada in all sectors of the economy. Jo-Ann works primarily with the auto and mining sectors. She has been in negotiations with many companies including GM, CN Rail, Air Canada, and Rio Tinto. Jo-Ann is a trustee on the health care trust for GM and Chrysler retirees. She represents Unifor on the CLC Pension Committee and the OFL Pension Committee. Various organizations have invited Jo-Ann to speak on pensions, including Lancaster House, Federated Press, the Conference Board of Canada, Canadian Institute of Actuaries, the Canadian Institute, the Association of Canadian Pension Managers, and Canada’s Public Policy Forum. She has a Ph.D. in Education from the University of Toronto and a Master of Law Degree from Osgoode Hall Law School.
