The Strathclyde Pension Fund is one of the largest local authority pension funds in the UK and ranks among the top 20 in the list of all UK pension funds.It has over 200 contributing employers including 12 local authorities and a variety of other public sector organisations large and small. Total membership is over 200,000. The Fund has investment assets of around £15.2 billion and is a signatory to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment. Richard has been the Investment Manager for Strathclyde since 2008 and takes the lead role in ensuring that the Fund’s global multi-asset investment portfolio is managed in accordance with established strategy and policies. Richard is an Economics graduate from the University of Strathclyde Business School and also holds an MSc in Investment Analysis from Stirling University. He has over 16 year’s investment experience having previously managed EM & Asia Pacific equities at Edinburgh Fund Managers and Aberdeen Asset Management. Prior to embarking on his investment management career Richard served as a police officer for 10 years.
